Art Mask

As you know in art during term 2 and 3 we have been working on our masks. At the moment i am nealy finished doing the texture. With my texture i am doing a short fur like a monkeys. The monkeys fur is fluffy but not to wild. On the ears and nose i am creating a smooth texture like on the ears and nose of a elephant and dolphin.

The colours that i am choosing to decorate my mask with are pink, purple and blue. I am doing the face purple, the monkey eyebrows pink, the nose blue. The ears light pinkor normal pink and the back of the face pruple aswell. I am not sure about the eyes but i think i am doing them brown with a black circle in the middle of them like monkeys eyes.

The three main colours that i have chosen all are next to each other on the colourwheel. The pink colour that i am choosing will be a light pink leading into darker pinks on the ears. On the eyebrow it will be a normal colour pink. The blue will also be quite light but not to light. The purple i want to be light but also not to light. To make my colours i will need to add white and other colours to make them good.

Home Work Task

For homeowork over the past few weeks we have been workign on a task.
Here is what we had to do;

For homework, develop your own advertising campaign for your created animal).
The design brief is simple … use image (made by collaging parts of your 3 animals together) and text (3 words).
The Image and Text must work together to create meaning.
You must show your design decisions and problem-solving process in your visual diary.

This task has been very fun and has made me use my creative side!!
I am happy with my final product, but i think that i could of done a bit of a better job of my words, but i still like them.

This picture that i have chosen is a picture that was drawn by Andy Warhol.
The reason why i chose this picture is because i found it rather interesting.
I found it interesting because if you look at many pictures of knives they are so booring, all they have is just plain colour but never any interesting thinks about them.
Where as, this picture by Andy Warhol has got interesting factors about it. Andy Warhol has contrasted the two colours together and made it interesting.

This picture that Andy Warhole has done is called Knives.

Texture

In Art this term we have been mainly focusing on texture. In class we have been drawing pictures of stuffed animals and trying to put as much texture in them as we can.
On the internet i was looking around and i found a good website that had a good paragraph about texture. I am displaying it below and with the website.

Sometimes, visual textures can be small icons of natural forms, or a mini-composition of lines and shapes that contrast each other. In these two groups you will see textures suggested by food, animals, medallions, geometry, games or weather and many that are just simple line designs.
Textures, like other Design Fundamentals are the tools used to manipulate ideas and give them graphic form. The larger the repertoire of tools, the better the choices for personal interpretation.

The illusionary arts to be graphically rendered, must have genuine expressions to communicate ideas. Texture offers the artist a powerful means of transmitting ideas. The mystery of art, its reality configured by imagination, is truly a remarkable thing.

In Art today Mrs Sandburg told us to go on the school Art wiki site that a teacher make up for the students. This test compaired our personality and the answers to the quiz together and showed us what animal we where closed to.

ANIMOLOGY: What Animal Are You?
Your Result: Ocre and Gray Dolphin

Sea! You're a very hearty person being a good friend. You attract many friends because of your lovely personality, but you're sometimes pretty weird. Your soul mate is the Bronze Goat. You hate the Peach Pig.

Art - Animal Mask

In Art as one of our main projects we are making masks. These masks will be a mixture of all different animals. Above have got three of my favourite animals that i could include into my mask.

Toucan- The reason why i chose a Toucan is beacuse of the wonderful colours that it has got on its feathers and beack.

Giraffe- The reason why i chose a Giraffe is becasue of the pattern that it has got on its body.

Monkey- The reason why i chose a monkey is because of the way its face is shaped and the personality that they have.
